Lukashenko Explains Why Belarus Is Conducting Military Inspections
Alexander Lukashenko said that in wartime, every serviceman must know everything, especially those being called up from the reserves.
Minsk, October 13. /TASS/. At a meeting with law enforcement and security officials, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko explained why regular inspections of military personnel and training are essential — especially for those called up from the reserve in wartime.
I will not hide this from our possible enemies in a future conflict - God forbid - but I constantly remind the Minister of Defense that today the country must determine the points where the armed forces will be immediately deployed within 24 hours - and our logistics allow us to do this in Belarus - and these points will be occupied. His press service quoted him as saying.
Lukashenko said that every soldier should know all the details, especially those called up from the reserve.
He explained: "I remember this from my military service. At that time, we were taught that if something happens, you should be in that trench with that weapon. We do the same thing today so that our military personnel know what direction to take. We have been there more than once, we have visited this fortified area, and we know what weapons they will use to defend our country."
"And our enemies should know: we know our Belarus very well. We know whether tanks can go through forested and swampy terrain somewhere. If they can't, we know. Where they will go. We clearly understand where to deploy our armed forces."
Lukashenko noted that under current conditions, it would not be possible to build roads through swamps, as was done at the beginning of Bagration's operation in 1944. According to him, modern weapons, especially drones, do not allow to do this.
Therefore, there is a clear understanding of where a potential enemy might cross the border, the head of state noted.
"This is where we have to block everything. It is simple and clear. No grand strategy is required from the Ministry of Defense. I say again: it is very important for those who we will call from the reserve to know where they are. He said: "Because [Deputy Minister of the Interior, Commander of Internal Forces Nikolai] Karpenkov will transfer his flying groups to the right place in a few hours." But once they are fully equipped, they need to know which trench they will be in by making combat arrangements from conscripts.
"I say this so that the Ministry of Defense and the Minister understand what I expect from you. This is not even related to the experience of special military operations in Ukraine - this is just a normal experience in the armed forces. We are working on it, and we need to work on it carefully and without haste."
