Trine Dyrholm, Christian Slater, Dree Hemingway are set to star in Incidents of Intimacy by Jesper Just, the second in Zentropa's new collection from Dogma25 Pictures.

The Danish company's 1995 Dogma Manifesto reboot initiative was first announced last May at the Cannes Film Festival.

Dyrholm will play a woman who is unable to recognize and access her own emotions and creates intimacy by stealing things from people instead of getting close to them. After having emotional reactions through objects, he records them in an archive of intimacy in his closet. Gradually, objects take on a life of their own, and the control he held slips through his fingers. His controlled world becomes a place of emotional terror as a new reality dawns, created and dominated by autonomous emotions.

Johannes Lillor, Julie Agnete Wang, Laura Drasbeck and Michael Moritzen also appear in this film.

Dyrholm's casting in "Incidents of Intimacy" marks a homecoming for the Danish actor who was part of the cast celebrating Thomas Winterberg, the first film made under the original manifesto.

Now one of Denmark's best-known actresses, she has since starred in Susan Baer's Oscar-winning drama A Better World, Nicolai Arcel's A Royal Affair, The Queen of Beating Hearts and, in recent years, Magnus von Horne's The Girl with the Needle and Jeanette Nordahl's Inception.

Dyrholm will star alongside Slater, who is also associated with Zentropa and appeared in a supporting role in Lars von Trier's Nymphomaniac. Hemingway is known for his roles on Sean Baker's Starlet, the FX limited series Love Story, and When We're Young.

Intimate Events is the first feature film of Just, an acclaimed artist whose work has been exhibited around the world.

He recently completed the script in collaboration with Cecil Dalsgaard Thomsen, who also wrote the screenplays for Isabella Eckloff's Kalak and Malene Choi's Quiet Migration.

Dogma25 is the initiative of recent Venice Golden Lion winner May Al Tokhi (The Unknown Woman), who is one of five directors making the film alongside Milad Alami, Annika Berg, Ekloff and Just.

The five filmmakers are united in an art collection based on a shared manifesto and a new covenant of chastity that includes ten new dogmas to protect the artistic integrity of the feature film and create a space for cinematic storytelling without consequence. All five feature films will be produced by Zentropa.

Denmark's Dogma25 projects in partnership with Zentropa, DR, and Nordisk Film Distribution, with the addition of Netflix in the Nordics, providing the core financing needed to make all five projects a reality.

In addition, Jesper Just's Intimacy Events is produced with the support of the Danish Film Institute, East Denmark Film Fund and Nordisk Film and Television Foundation.

Dogma25 films are distributed in the Nordics and DR by Nordisk Film Distribution and subsequently on Netflix. TrustNordisk handles international sales.
