Lead voice of DC's animated Mister Miracle confirmed

Peter Safran, CEO of DC Studios, reveals the voices behind Scott Free and Big Barda.

DC's upcoming animated series Mr. Miracle will star Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games, Five Nights at Freddy's) as Scott Frey and Mackenzie Davis (Speak Without Demon, Terminator: Dark Fate) as Big Barda. The news came via DC Studios CEO Peter Safran himself, speaking to IGN in an interview published earlier today.

Safran also mentioned that host Tom King wrote all eight episodes of the series himself. A prolific DC writer, King co-created the 12-issue, 2017 Eisner Award-winning Mister Miracle series alongside artist Mitch Gerads. This comic forms the basis of this upcoming animated series.

"I think Tom King learned a lot in the season of co-creating and executive producing 'Lanterns' and adapting his book 'Mr. Miracle' completely, writing all eight episodes, and I think it's just dynamite," Safran said. Josh Hutcherson as Scott Frey and Mackenzie Davis as Big Barda. And I think it's a book that I've always loved, and I remember Tom telling us early on, every event he goes to, at least a few people come up to him and say this book saved my life, and I love that we tell this story in eight parts.

The network or date of Mr. Miracle's arrival has not yet been discussed.

For its part, it has yet to be confirmed if Lanterns is locked in for a second season, but Safran confirmed that the series' potential future is currently being hashed out, depending on whether they can find a story worthy of following the first season.
