Why Should the Ministry of Defense Be Active in the Refining and Petrochemical Sector?

In the second special parliamentary session reviewing the programs of the proposed defense minister, the MP for the people of Tehran asked: Why should the Ministry of Defense be active in the refining and petrochemical sector?

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan Malik Shariati Niaser, in the second special meeting of the Islamic Council in order to listen to the plans and records of the proposed Minister of Defense and Support of the Armed Forces, Mehrdad Akhlik, referring to a part of the economic plan proposed by the Minister of Defense that was presented to the members of the parliament, he said to Mehrdad Akhlik: In your plans in the economic field, strengthen the knowledge of designing refineries, petrochemicals, and petro-refineries and localize their standards, and further complete SATA's investment plans in chains The country's strategic value generators such as petrochemicals, upstream areas of oil and mining, and one or two other related areas have been mentioned, so my question is, what is the real duty and mission of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Support!?

The representative of the people of Tehran, Ray, Shemiranat, Islamshahr and Pardis in the parliament stated that if I had not seen the name of the proposed minister of defense in this program, I would have felt that it was the program proposed by the minister of oil, and continued: One of the things that must be planned in the government, which is not the exclusive responsibility of the ministry of defense, is to regulate economic activities. Currently, the situation is such that all the country's executive bodies interfere in each other's work, which is not caused by now, but rather a situation that was inherited from the years of the constructive government, and in order to repay the legally certain debts that had to be paid, they offered the shares of various companies, as a result, today the Ministry of Defense has more petrochemical companies than the Ministry of Oil, or our Ministry of Education has a petro-culture, and it should be in charge of the Petrochemical Department, which is really is wrong

Addressing the proposed Minister of Defense and Support of the Armed Forces, Shariati said: All of your time should be in your specialized field where you have experience, that is, in the field of providing the basic needs of the armed forces and providing equipment and such issues. We are at war and it is not your duty to spend your time improving your knowledge in the field of petrochemicals, refineries, etc. Therefore, we request you to promise us that you will follow up on this matter in the government and leave these duties to his own people.
