Of this amount, 15% is consumed within the province and the rest is transferred to other regions of the country.
He added: Hormozgan, having the top ranks in the country in the production of mangoes, eggplants, peppers, tomatoes (open space and greenhouses), dates and tropical fruits, plays a key role in providing the country's food basket in winter and spring. Also, in the field of fisheries, this province, having 41% of the important fishing ports, 31% of the country's fishermen and 47% of the country's fishing catch, is considered the showcase of Iran's fisheries.
The proud resistance of farmers and fishermen in the days of crisis
Yektapour said: One of the important points of this meeting was to celebrate the standing of the producers of the province during the war and attacks.
The head of the Hormozgan Agricultural Jihad Organization stated: Despite being under attack from Jask to Bastak, and even in these recent days, an incident happened to a fishing barge in Sirik, but the country's production wheel did not stop moving.
Yektapur, based on the statistics provided, while the harvest season of crops and wheat started from February to May at the same time as the tensions, with the efforts of Hormozgani farmers and despite the transportation problems and the closing of the export borders, the wheat harvest was carried out according to the schedule and without interruption so that the country does not face a deadlock in the supply of basic goods.
The heavy pressure of costs and tariffs on producers
Regarding the national and regional challenges of the agricultural sector, he said: pointing out that after the cost revolution and the sharp increase in the prices of inputs, poisons, fertilizers, machine parts, labor wages and water and electricity tariffs, the producers were under severe pressure.
Yektapour said: "Unfortunately, the government in the agricultural sector does not pay sufficient support subsidies, nor does it provide farmers with adequate working capital to overcome the crisis."
He added: The decrease in the price of chicken and the economic pressure on chicken farmers and shrimp farmers is a serious alarm that, if not seen in time, will threaten the supply chain of the country's cold seasons.
The head of the Hormozgan Agricultural Jihad Organization pointed out that the direct damage caused to the agricultural sector of the province after the war amounted to 5 thousand billion tomans, and the greatest damage was caused to the fishing fleet and fishermen.
