Transparency in Zanjan's Mining Activities to Be Pursued Through Smart Oversight

Zanjan – The Director-General of the Zanjan Province Audit Court, stressing the need to develop smart oversight systems in the mining sector, said transparency in Zanjan's mining activities is being pursued through the development of smart monitoring.

According to Mehr reporter, Ali Ghafari, at the opening ceremony of the Zanjan mining line monitoring system, pointed out the importance of intelligent monitoring of mining activities and stated: Protection of the treasury is a common concern of managers of executive bodies and regulatory institutions, and the development of intelligent systems can help achieve economic transparency, respect the rights of users and people, and protect national resources.

Stating that the full implementation of monitoring programs may be accompanied by some inadequacies, he added: The monitoring bodies monitor these cases continuously and, with the cooperation of executive directors, they will put on the agenda the strengthening of internal controls and the elimination of possible deficiencies.

The director general of Zanjan Province Accounting Bureau emphasized the need to continue planning to expand the coverage of the mine monitoring system and said: the annual increase in the number of covered mines should be pursued as one of the main goals of this program in order to enable more accurate monitoring of mining activities.

Ghaffari also emphasized the necessity of supporting the law-abiding operators and stated: Formulation and implementation of incentive policies within the framework of laws and regulations should be considered in the Provincial Mining Council in order to provide the field for more cooperation of the activists of this sector with the monitoring programs.

He considered transparency to be an effective factor in securing public interests and noted: In addition to protecting the treasury and the interests of the country, supporting the legal operators of mines is also one of the duties of the responsible institutions. Because the development and prosperity of the country depends on the support of healthy economic activists.

Stating that transparency will benefit the operators, the government and the general public, the director general of Zanjan Province's Accounts Court continued: The establishment of smart monitoring systems can prevent possible violations while specifying the responsibilities and rights of the parties and strengthen the field of healthy and legal activity in the mining sector.

Referring to the actions taken in the field of protection of public resources, Ghafari stated: Before the entry of regulatory bodies, the executive directors are concerned about the protection of the treasury, and fortunately, valuable actions have been taken in this field, which should be continued with continuous planning and the cooperation of all responsible bodies.
