Qisas Sentence Carried Out for Mehrshad: Suspect in Mistaken Killing of Jannatabad Student Executed

The qisas sentence against the suspect in the murder of a young university student in Tehran's Jannatabad neighborhood was carried out at dawn Wednesday at Ghezel Hesar prison, after legal proceedings and unsuccessful efforts to secure the victim's family's forgiveness. The police investigation showed that Mehrshad had come to the place due to financial disputes with Karim, but he shot the young student by mistake.

After fleeing for several months, the accused presented himself to the police and claimed during interrogations that financial disputes over a debt of 1 billion and 100 million tomans and a transaction of 12 thousand dollars had caused the conflict.

He also admitted that he had bought a Colt Camry for 18 million Tomans.

After the trial, Mehrshad was sentenced to retribution and finally, with the approval of the sentence and the lack of consent of the victim's family, his punishment was executed

The case of the suspicious death of an elderly man in one of Tehran's hospitals entered a new stage when his young son confessed to the murder.
