An image has surfaced of an Intel LGA 1954 socket motherboard supporting next-generation Nova Lake-S processors branded as 'Core Series 4'.

It seems that one of Intel's partners has showcased the next generation Nova Lake-S motherboard during an event in China. This news was published through the wxnod user account. Digital China is not a name that we know much about before; But it seems that this company is one of the first series that has publicly displayed a motherboard equipped with LGA 1954 socket. Other companies have so far done this in secret.

The motherboard is known as the M26-NVLS-ATX09 and appears to be a generic design product for the upcoming Nova Lake family of processors.

The most important feature of this motherboard is, of course, its LGA 1954 socket, which will support future Intel processors. But the interesting point is related to the design of the processor installation mechanism. Previously, reports and information about the use of 2L-ILM design in this socket were published; However, in the images of this motherboard, it seems that we are facing a standard and single-lever mechanism for installing the processor.

This could mean that the 2L-ILM design is only intended for high-end platforms; Platforms where CPU cooling is more important. In contrast, Q- and B-series motherboards will likely use components with optimized thermal design power (TDP).

The chipset of this motherboard is probably Q970 or B960; A subject that shows its organizational and commercial nature. These chipsets are mainly used in office environments and business systems and are designed with a focus on durability and round-the-clock performance.

In the brochure of this product, support for DDR5 memories with a speed of up to 6400 megatransfers per second (MT/s) and a capacity of up to 256 GB can be seen. This capacity will be available through four DIMM memory slots.

The M26-NVLS-ATX09 motherboard is also equipped with two PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, one of which operates with x16 bandwidth and the other with x8 bandwidth. Along with these slots, two PCIe 5.0 x4 slots, two NVMe ports with Gen5x4 interface and a PCI slot are also considered.

There is also a dedicated M.2 E-Key 2230 slot for installing a Wi-Fi 7 card.

In the power supply circuit section, several heatsinks are seen to cover the VRM parts and other parts; However, the overall design of the motherboard follows the standard ATX form factor. Also, a combination of 8-pin and 4-pin connectors has been used to supply power to the processor and motherboard components.

When Intel's next-gen motherboards arrive next year, it looks like there will be a significant difference between these models and the Z-series motherboards. Currently, information about the price of these products has not been published; But due to the dramatic increase in hardware prices in recent months, Intel's Nova Lake-S motherboards are expected to be slightly more expensive than the current generation products.
