Fars Handicrafts on the Path to Linking with Tourism and Job Creation

Shiraz – The Deputy Minister of Tourism at the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, emphasizing Fars province's handicrafts capacity for tourism development and job creation, called for strengthening the link between these two sectors and removing marketing and sales barriers for their products.

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan Anoushirvan Mohsenibandapi on Wednesday evening while visiting the third national event "Iranian vest" in Shiraz, referring to the capacities of the private sector in the development of tourism and handicrafts, he said: Shiraz Mehr event is different from many other events in the country due to the centrality of the private sector and the support of the government sector.

Pointing to the necessity of developing cooperation between the tourism and handicraft sectors, he added: solving the problems of marketing and selling handicraft products is one of the important axes of this cooperation, which can be followed by holding specialized events and using the capacity of tourism complexes, including hotels.

Stating that the capacities created in Fars province can be a model for other regions of the country, the Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts said: Handicraft producers can market their products by attending specialized events and taking advantage of tourism spaces.

Emphasizing the necessity of looking at the tourism industry as a chain, Mohseni Bandapi stated: the development of this industry is not limited to hotel construction, but includes a series of activities including handicrafts, travel service offices, tourist guides and other related sectors that must be considered in an integrated manner.

Emphasizing the role of tourism and handicrafts in creating employment, especially for women and in the field of domestic jobs, the Deputy Minister of Tourism of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts announced the pursuit of support facilities for the activists of this sector and considered bank bureaucracy as one of the obstacles to applicants' access to financial resources.

Referring to the capacity of tourism to increase the share of this sector in the country's economy, Mohsenibandapi noted: tourism can play an effective role in generating income and maintaining employment, and the realization of this goal requires the simultaneous strengthening of capacities such as handicrafts, cultural tourism, ecotourism and other related sectors.
