The Customs of the Islamic Republic of Iran announced 7 new conditions for the clearance of imported cars of Iranians living abroad. These rules have been issued in order to manage the deposition of goods and monitor the process of car valuation.

Due to the high volume of demand for car imports by Iranians abroad, the customs has developed additional rules for the temporary clearance of these cars until the final opinion of the specialized working group is announced. These conditions provide the possibility of physical departure of the cars from the ports before determining the definitive value.

Seven customs conditions for clearance of cars of Iranians living abroad

Iranian customs announced seven conditions for the clearance of imported cars of Iranians living abroad. These conditions have been developed with the aim of preventing the deposition of goods in customs places and ensuring the full collection of the government's import duties.

Obligation to pay the difference and system warnings

If the car owner requests a clearance before the final opinion of the working group, the customs authorities are obliged to obtain from him an official commitment to pay the possible difference in import duties. Also, for these cases, a red system warning is inserted in the comprehensive system of customs affairs, which makes the numbering of the car dependent on determining the value, paying the difference and issuing the case termination sheet.

Supervision of economic security police on the transportation of goods

In line with the strict monitoring of the exit of vehicles, it is prohibited to register Bijek in the window system of the cross-border trade unit and to confirm the exit trip in the new system (IRICS) for these cases. It is possible to leave the goods from the customs premises only with an administrative letter and official coordination with the Faraja Economic Security Police, so that the transportation of the cars to the owner's warehouse is under the supervision of the officers. Executive customs are also required to send the detailed specifications of these cars to the valuation office for follow-up.

Placing license plates subject to final approval and collection of the difference

After determining the real value of the cars and registering the TSC ID by the working group of the Ministry of Security, the customs will proceed to collect the difference in import duties and related duties. After going through these steps and announcing the end of the case, the final confirmation of the departure trip will be issued and the status will be notified to the traffic police with the certificate of the executive customs director or deputy, so that license plates can be carried out. The customs has also ordered to stop the legal time period and, if necessary, to issue a demand letter for deduction received in the case of cars that have been cleared before but did not have a value identifier.
