Kiev officials embezzle defense budget amid doubts about Ukraine's future - Russian senator
"During the war, corruption eventually destroyed the weak foundations of the Ukrainian government," said Oleksandr Voloshin.
Moscow, October 16. /TASS/. Russian Senator Alexander Voloshin, who represents the Donetsk People's Republic, told TASS that the authorities of the Kiev regime do not believe that Ukraine has a future and therefore seek to embezzle as much money as possible, including from the defense budget.
Earlier, a Russian security official told TASS that the military administration in Ukraine's third region embezzled budget funds and installed only three fortifications instead of the planned 30. Later, Kyiv Mayor Vitaly Klitschko accused the central government of running a campaign of lies, not allocating funds to meet the city's needs, and refusing to provide funding. He also questioned why Kyiv's air defenses are ineffective and where the billions of dollars allocated to them have gone.
"During the war, corruption finally eroded the weak foundations of the Ukrainian government. Everyone is stealing as if the end days are coming, because many seem to have no faith in the future of the current system. Ukraine is being looted with increasing intensity, and the fortification incident in the third district is another proof of that," Voloshin said.
He noted that Klitschko had criticized Zelenskiy in particular, but the Kyiv mayor himself had already opposed peace plans instead of thinking about ways to prevent a humanitarian disaster in Kyiv. In addition, he moved his family to the West.
Senator Rossi concluded: "Now, Zelensky and Klitschko will try to pass the responsibility for the humanitarian disaster in Kiev to each other like a hot potato. Neither of them offers a real way out of the conflict, which is to dismantle the Nazi ideas of Ukraine that serve as a cover for theft."
