According to Mehr reporter, Hojjatul-Islam Wal-Muslimeen Hassan Hormoz, on Thursday evening, in the twelfth meeting of the Imam Khomeini Relief Committee's Council of Directors of the province, which was held with the aim of selecting zakat ambassadors and establishing zakat houses in the villages, he added: The selection of zakat ambassadors and the establishment of zakat houses in the villages can provide the basis for wider participation of people in promoting the culture of zakat, collecting resources and directing them towards the needy.
He continued: Zakat ambassadors can play an effective role in improving services to the underprivileged.
The Director General of Zakat Executive Affairs of the Imam Khomeini (RA) Relief Committee emphasized the necessity of reviewing the implementation programs of Zakat, clarifying the performance and strengthening public trust, using the capacity of jihadi forces, popular groups and social activists in the process of attracting and spending Zakat.
Hojjat al-Islam Hormoz also pointed to the role of zakat houses in organizing the activities of this area and said: performing matters related to attracting, registering and spending zakat through zakat houses and with the participation of zakat ambassadors is one of the important goals of the zakat council, which can help facilitate processes, increase people's participation and effectively direct zakat resources to the needy.
37% increase in zakat collection in West Azerbaijan
Director General of the Imam Khomeini (RA) Relief Committee of West Azarbaijan also pointed to the 37% growth of zakat collection in the province compared to the same period last year and said: The amount of zakat collected in West Azarbaijan last year reached 174 billion tomans.
Mehrdad Mohammadzadeh emphasized the necessity of developing public infrastructure for collecting and managing zakat and added: "We hope that by establishing zakat houses in the villages of the province and taking advantage of people's capacities, we will be able to use the resources and blessings given by God in this region in order to expand the culture of zakat and support the deprived and the needy as much as possible."
