Growing up in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, we always dreamed of telling stories that could reach the people around us. "Today, as siblings, actors and filmmakers, it's so important to celebrate the incredible talent and stories that come from our Latino community," Fernandez and Cinco said in a joint statement.

They added: “We are truly honored and excited to host this year's NALIP Awards and hope to inspire the next generation to continue dreaming big. ¡Porque nuestras historias is important! ¡A seguir echando ganas, mi gente!”

In addition to being actors, they noted that they are also producing co-partners who launched Espectro MX Films to "create stories that connect people across cultures and borders, with humor, heart and authenticity."

"Especially in the times we live in, we believe it's more important than ever to share our stories, celebrate our cultures, and bring people together," Fernandez and Cinco said.

Derbs, who recently wrapped the popular Apple TV series Acapulco after four seasons, also shared her joy at celebrating all the nominations.

"This year's winners don't need anyone to claim for them," said Eugenio Derbez. This work has already traveled around the world. "That's the standard now and it's only going to go up from here."

In addition to the awards ceremony, NALIP will hold its annual media summit from October 21-23, focusing on exploring the emerging independent economy: the independent film and television ecosystem, global co-productions, entrepreneurial producers, capital and emerging distribution channels that are now being set up.
