Mallard- The governor of Tehran, referring to the crisis of land subsidence and the decrease of underground water resources, emphasized the prohibition of new population loading outside the approved plans and the necessity of respecting the water capacities of the province.
According to Mehr reporter, Mohammad Sadegh Motamedian, on Tuesday evening at the meeting of Tehran Province Planning and Development Council in Mallard Governorate, referring to the land subsidence crisis and the sharp drop in the underground water level, emphasized the prohibition of new population loading outside the framework of approved plans.
The Governor of Tehran stated: Due to the subsidence of the land and the lowering of the underground water level to a depth of 300 meters, new population loading is prohibited in Tehran province, and any population development should be carried out based on approved plans and respecting water considerations.
Emphasizing the necessity of optimal management of water resources and preventing more pressure on underground aquifers, he added: Tehran province is facing serious challenges in the field of land subsidence and water supply, and any new population loading without regard to water capacities can be a crisis.
Motamedian pointed out: The development of cities and the creation of new population loading is possible only within the framework of approved plans and by providing the necessary infrastructure, including water, and the responsible institutions must monitor this issue seriously.
In the end, the governor of Tehran emphasized the need for cooperation of all executive bodies to manage water resources, prevent unauthorized constructions and prevent population loading beyond the province's capacities.
