The price war over wheat increased / Farmers want 85 thousand tomans, how much will the government pay?

Ambassador Arjan: The price of wheat has become one of the new challenges of the agricultural sector; Disagreements over the final price have risen and wheat farmers have a demand that can change the pricing equations of this strategic product.
A member of the Agricultural Products Pricing Council criticized the 3-month delay in determining the guaranteed purchase price of wheat and said: the guaranteed purchase price of wheat should not be less than 85,000 Tomans per kilogram; However, the actual price of production based on costs is beyond this number.
While determining the guaranteed purchase rate of wheat for the upcoming crop year has been delayed for months, speculations and disagreements about the final figure of this strategic product continue. In the meantime, the private sector members of the Council for Pricing and Adoption of Supportive Policies for Basic Agricultural Products want a figure commensurate with the actual costs of production and existing inflation, while the government members of this council declare a lower amount.

Attaala Hashemi, the head of the National Wheat Farmers Foundation, said about the price proposed by this foundation for the guaranteed purchase of wheat: the guaranteed purchase price of wheat should not be less than 85 thousand tomans per kilogram; However, the actual price of production based on costs is beyond this number.
Referring to how this figure was calculated, he added: The price of 85,000 tomans has been calculated considering the conventional profit of 20% for the farmer, but considering that this rate is related to the next 6 to 9 months, the actual amount should be much higher than this figure. However, in the current situation, this number is suggested.
Criticizing the approach of the Program and Budget Organization, the member of the Council for Pricing and Adoption of Support Policies for Basic Agricultural Products stated: While we have proposed 85,000 Tomans, the Program and Budget Organization is considering a figure of 60,000 Tomans. Meanwhile, according to the existing inflation rate, the real figure is expected to be higher.
The head of the National Wheat Farmers Foundation further emphasized: the offer of 85 thousand tomans in the current situation is conditional on the fact that at the end of March, in case of inflation or other economic changes, the set price will be revised again, and the government representatives in the council must agree to this condition so that the rights of farmers are not violated.
