India called up Bhuvneshwar for West Indies T20 final with doubt over Singh

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been added to the Indian squad for the fifth and final T20I series against the West Indies as Arshdeep Singh is a doubt.

India have added Bhuvneshwar Kumar to the squad for the fifth and deciding Twenty20 International (T20I) against the West Indies.

The country's cricket board announced on Friday that the fast bowler will be brought in as cover for Arshdeep Singh, who continues to recover from a shoulder injury.

End of the list, Arshdeep hit his bowling shoulder during the fourth T20 International in Hyderabad and retired. He was hit while batting as the West Indies leveled the five-match series 2-2.

A decision on Arshdeep's availability for the series decider in Bengaluru will be taken on Saturday before the match.

Bhuvneshwar, 36, returns to India's T20I setup for the first time in almost four years.

The seamer has also been named in India's squad for the T20 International series in New Zealand, starting on October 22.

India have led the series twice, but two centuries for West Indies captain Shai Hope have leveled matters in each of the following games.

The second match of the series also set West Indies' record run chase in T20 Internationals.

The hosts claimed a 2-1 series victory in the one-day internationals that preceded the T20s, although Hope's century in the third match took the West Indies to a record run total.
