A bipartisan group of senators is calling on Donald Trump to cancel his recently announced diesel deal with Russia, warning that it could help President Vladimir Putin finance his war on Ukraine, calling the deal "a gift to our enemy and a betrayal of our allies."
Treasury's General Authorization 135, which lifts sanctions on Russian diesel exports, only provides more fuel for Putin to fund his war machine and enable Russia to continue its brutal attacks on Ukrainian civilians. Giving Moscow the ability to freely sell Russian diesel on world markets harms US security interests and is Putin's illegal betrayal of the people. "This deal is a gift to our enemy and a betrayal to our allies."
The letter, which includes a memo to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessant and Secretary of State Marco Rubio, was signed by Republican Sens. Tom Tillis of North Carolina, Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, Susan Collins of Maine, Alan Stewart Armstrong of Oklahoma, and Lisa Murkowski, D-Texas. Blumenthal of Connecticut, Gene Shaheen of New Hampshire, Dick Durbin of Illinois, Sheldon Whitehouse of Rhode Island, Jack Reed of Rhode Island and Chris Coons of Delaware.

We also recognize the urgent need to reduce energy costs for American families and address the disruptions caused by the war with Iran. However, allowing Russian diesel to enter global markets would be of little to no relief to the Americans. It will have little effect on fuel prices, but the revenue the Kremlin will receive from the deal will undoubtedly finance China, its desired cooperation with Iran, as well as advance nuclear war with North Korea. In their message, the senators announced that they would not endanger military members who are deployed overseas in support of Operation Epic Rage.
"Putin is a tyrant. Get out of this deal, rescind General Authorization #135, and implement the authorities under the Lindsey O. Graham Russia-Iran Sanctions Act of 2026. Preserve our legacy — and America's duty — as leader of the free world," they asserted.

When asked during a conversation on Tuesday if he had been told that Russia was not using diesel money to use bombs against Ukraine, Trump said, "Nobody told me. But they're not releasing it to us, they're releasing it to the whole world."
The senators' message to the president came after Trump announced in a social media post on Friday: "I just concluded a very successful conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, in which it was agreed that Russia will immediately supply more than 300,000 tons of diesel fuel to the US and global markets, another 500,000 tons and another 000,000 tons during November 10, 0000 to the global market." slow In addition, Russia will deliver 3,000,000 tons of diesel fuel shortly, based on the status of its diesel refineries.
Trump says Russia has agreed to deliver millions of diesel fuel after a "very successful discussion".
Between the control of the entire Strait of Hormuz and this big announcement about Russian energy, the price of diesel for Americans and indeed the world will drop by record numbers and fast! It should be understood that Iran will not have nuclear weapons! The president announced in this post.
