Mercedes-Benz EQA: Review of Specifications, Design, Features, and Value for Money
The Mercedes-Benz EQA is one of the all-electric vehicles from the German brand in the compact crossover class. Its suitable dimensions and modern features make it a good choice for city use.
According to Ambassador Arjan, EQA 260, which was introduced to the Iranian market by Rasa Motor Middle East, is considered one of the current luxury electric cars.
Mercedes-Benz EQA 260 has an electric motor with a power of 190 hp and a torque of 385 Nm, and is equipped with a 66.5 kWh battery with a range of more than 400 km. Of course, this car has other features that we need to consider in our review. Therefore, in the following article, we will examine the technical specifications, exterior and interior design, comfort and safety facilities, and the advantages and disadvantages of the Mercedes-Benz EQA 260.
Checking the technical specifications of Mercedes-Benz EQA 260
The Mercedes-Benz EQA 260 is an all-electric compact crossover that has an electric motor. The maximum power that this engine produces is 190 horsepower (140 kW) and its torque reaches 385 Nm. This amount of torque shows that this car performs well when starting to move and overtaking; Of course, its performance is not at the level of sports cars.
Engine power is transmitted to the front wheels through a single-speed automatic transmission. The reason for using a single-speed gearbox is that electric cars, unlike gasoline cars, do not need to raise the engine speed to achieve maximum torque.
Mercedes-Benz EQA 260 is equipped with a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 66.5 kWh, and its energy consumption is about 157 to 166 Wh per kilometer. Based on these figures, the theoretical range of the car with a full charge will be around 401 to 424 km. This range can be fine for daily commutes and city trips, but it's best to check the availability of charging stations if you're planning long trips.
One of the important points about electric cars is the time required to charge the battery. Mercedes-Benz EQA 260 is charged by both AC and DC methods; But the charging time is different in each method:
• Fast DC charging: using a 100 kW charger, it takes about 35 minutes to charge the battery from 10 to 80 percent;
• AC charging: with a 7.4 kW home charger, charging the battery from 10 to 100% takes about 10 hours.
The suspension system of Mercedes-Benz EQA is McPherson type in the front axle and multilink type in the rear axle. The front suspension system absorbs the shocks caused by the unevenness of the road, while the rear suspension system controls body movements and maintains the stability of the car in turns. As a result, the ride with this car can be considered smooth and comfortable.
In the brake department, EQA is equipped with disc brakes on both axles; with the difference that cooling discs are used in the front axle. Anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake force distribution system (EBD), auxiliary braking system and electronic stability control system (ESP) can be mentioned from auxiliary braking systems, which help to maintain the stability of the car when slowing down and braking in different conditions. Another option is the electric parking brake, which helps to keep the car steady when stopped.
This crossover accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in 8.6 seconds and its maximum speed reaches 160 km/h. Therefore, the EQA performs well for everyday use, but its acceleration is not at the level of sports electric cars.
Mercedes-Benz EQA 260 exterior design review
In the front view of the Benz EQA, a closed grille with the Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star design can be seen, which, along with the LED lights, has created a different face compared to gasoline crossovers. Something you may not have seen in Benz products is the light strip that connects the lights.
In the side view, the gentle slope of the roof is the first thing that catches the eye; Of course, considering the compactness of this model, this feature is not far from expected. Among other details of this facade, we can mention the low volume of the doors, which makes the body of this car not look too simple.
Mercedes-Benz EQA 260 is 4463 mm long, 1834 mm wide and 1620 mm high, and its wheelbase reaches 2729 mm. These dimensions clearly show that EQA is rightly placed in the category of compact crossovers.
Mercedes-Benz EQA 260 interior design and cabin
The most important feature of the Mercedes-Benz EQA 260 dashboard is two 10-inch screens, one dedicated to the digital amp screen and the other to the infotainment system.
One of the attractive parts of the dashboard are the circular air vents, two of which are located on the sides of the dashboard and three others in the middle of the dashboard and under the central display. Circular air vents with a turbine-inspired design are some of the attention-grabbing details on the dashboard. The use of decorative trims and internal lighting with the ability to choose from 64 colors has also made the cabin look modern.
Although the rear row has enough space for three passengers, the wheelbase of 2,729 mm suggests that this car is not very comfortable in terms of legroom, especially for tall people. On the other hand, headroom is also limited for tall people due to the slope of the roof, and for that reason, it may be a bit annoying for long family trips.
The trunk of EQA 260 also has a capacity of 340 liters in normal mode, which is enough for everyday use; However, by folding the rear seats, this space increases to 1300 liters.
