Rise in Online Fraud Complaints; Oversight Falls Short
The head of the National Computer Guilds Organization warned that oversight of online fraud is insufficient and stressed the need for cooperation with the Cyber Police (FATA).
The head of the country's computer trade union system announced the inadequacy of monitoring internet frauds and the necessity of cooperation with the FATA police.
Ali Hakim Javadi, the head of the country's computer trade union organization, in a conversation with Mehr reporter, said about the role of the computer trade union organization in monitoring internet activities and preventing frauds: one of the tasks defined for the organization is to monitor the activities of its members and help prevent abuse of people in cyberspace.
He added: The businesses that are members of the organization operate within specific frameworks, but all the people who work in this field are not members of the computer trade union organization, and a significant part of them operate in the field of the virtual business union and are subject to the trade union regulations.
Referring to the difficulty of monitoring these activities, the head of the country's computer trade union organization said: due to the development of internet businesses, monitoring the performance of activists in this field and preventing frauds requires more effective monitoring structures to increase the possibility of controlling and following up violations.
Hakim Javadi stated that there has not been enough success in this field and stated: The increase in complaints in the field of internet frauds shows that the measures taken have not been able to prevent these problems in an optimal way.
He emphasized the need for the cooperation of the responsible institutions to deal with this phenomenon and said: cooperation with the FATA police can help to better track violations and prevent internet frauds.
The head of the country's computer trade union system organization also explained how complaints are handled in this organization: the arbitration center of the organization will follow up on the matter if it receives a complaint; However, many cases are not referred to the organization, and as a result, it is not possible to handle all complaints directly.
