Car imports by Iranians residing abroad halted + details and reason behind the issue

Car imports by Iranians residing abroad, launched with the aim of facilitating vehicle supply, were halted at the license plate registration checkpoint.

The import of cars by Iranians living abroad, which was keyed to facilitate the supply of cars, was stopped at the numbering gate.

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan, according to the latest notification of the Iranian customs to the executive customs, it was forbidden to send the information of customs declarations for numbering. The reason for this stop is the lack of base price and lack of value identifier in the TSC system.

Fars wrote in a news article: According to the order of the deputy of customs affairs, until the value of these cars is finalized in the working group of Note 6, no license plates will be placed in the country.

After years of prohibition, the import of cars was allowed in 1401, and the rules for the cars of Iranian expatriates were also announced in June 1404.

This plan has always been associated with the challenge of conflicting views; While the Ministry of Security emphasizes on providing foreign currency from personal sources, the Central Bank considers this import model as a factor for collecting foreign currency from the market floor.

Now, according to the announcement of Iran Customs, the Valuation Working Group of Note 6 of the Vehicle Law is required to complete the value determination process within the next month at the latest. Until then, customs authorities should refrain from sending information for numbering.

The direct responsibility for the good implementation of this directive rests with the highest authority of executive customs, and after pricing, full collection of import duties, taxes and legal duties is required.
