Situation around Zaporozhye nuclear power plant tense, pressure palpable: director
According to Yuri Chernichuk, only "individual changes" are visible in repairs to one of two power supply lines and periodic cargo delivery.
MELITOPOL, October 13. /TASS/. Manager Yuriy Chernychuk said the situation around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant is stable but very tense.
"It's a stable but very tense situation, because the situation has been escalating since April and continues to escalate. It's a real pressure cooker there. Unfortunately, we haven't seen any fundamental progress or positive change," Chernychuk said in an interview with the Energodar En TV channel.
He noted that only "individual changes" can be seen in the repairs of one of the two power supply lines and the periodic delivery of cargo.
However, the ongoing attacks in Ukraine prevent the stable and safe transportation of personnel and materials to the nuclear power plant, the director said. Chernychuk said that since April, Ukraine has killed nine employees of the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant and injured more than 50 people.
