An American official claimed that Iran's attacks on vessels in the Strait of Hormuz are unjustified and that Washington will respond to any attack on its ships.

According to Ambassador Arjan, a senior American official in a conversation with Al Jazeera TV channel claimed that this country is closely monitoring Iran's attacks on shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, which is an "unjustifiable" action.

Ignoring his country's failures in achieving the goals of aggression against Iran, this American official added: "We continue to confront Iran's hostile actions by repelling attacks and ensuring the free flow of maritime shipping."

He also claimed that America will respond to any attack on one of its ships by targeting Iranian ships.
