The Minister of Communications of the 14th government, referring to the new decision of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace, announced the approval of a 32-point resolution to remove the platform filter.

According to the latest domestic news, Sattar Hashemi, the Minister of Communications, announced in an interview that a 32-point resolution was passed in the Supreme Council of Cyberspace to remove the filtering of platforms, and the implementation of its provisions will be followed up. The Minister of Communications and Information Technology, referring to the activities of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace, said that in different periods, a large part of the supervisory issues and follow-ups of this council have been directed towards the Ministry of Communications. According to him, there are differences between the duties assigned to various institutions and it is necessary to determine to what extent each institution has fulfilled its responsibilities.

Hashemi asked media activists and journalists to closely monitor this issue and check how much progress has been made in the tasks entrusted to the Ministry of Communications in different periods out of the total tasks.

The Minister of Communications continued that, in the end, the situation has progressed as if the Ministry of Communications is in charge of the entire field of cyberspace, while the purpose of forming the Supreme Council of Cyberspace and the strategic view of the leadership was not that all the responsibilities should be placed on the Ministry of Communications and other agencies only have a supervisory role. He emphasized that the Ministry of Communications does not need this number of observers and a new look should be formed in this field.

Hashemi added that when most of the members of the Council and the National Center of Cyberspace are from technical fields, naturally the dominant view also becomes technical and finally, all members become supervisors of the Ministry of Communications. In response to the question that the follow-up of Article 32 resolution and the duties of different departments should be done by the Supreme Council of Cyberspace and the National Center of Cyberspace, but considering the non-holding of the meetings of the Council, will he follow up on this issue, he said that part of this issue is related to the non-convening of the Supreme Council of Cyberspace.

He explained that this council has about 27 or 28 members and there are various heads of forces to commanders and officials in it, and for this reason, it is considered one of the most important councils in the country in terms of the composition of its members. According to the Minister of Communications, due to the conditions and requirements of the country, at some points and according to the discretion and the current situation, it was not possible to hold council meetings.

On the other hand, changing the outlook and changing some people has also been on the agenda. The Minister of Communications emphasized that part of the existing tasks and issues related to the 7th plan, especially those that need final approval, should be discussed in the Supreme Council of Cyberspace. He said that this issue is on the agenda and will be followed up seriously, and he expressed hope that it will be possible to hold council meetings and this process will come to a conclusion.
