A jump in highway construction in Bushehr province; Improving traffic by implementing 9 new projects
Bushehr - The development of highways in Bushehr, from coastal roads in the north of the province to high-traffic axes leading to industrial and economic areas in the south, has entered a new stage.
Ambassador Arjan of the Provinces Group: Every day, the roads of Bushehr host a wide flow of passenger cars, trucks carrying goods, fleets transporting agricultural products and vehicles related to the oil and gas industries; A network that extends from the north to the south of the province and connects commercial ports, cities, production centers and tourist areas.
In a province where an important part of its economy is dependent on maritime trade, industrial activities, agriculture and moving goods, the quality of roads is not only a civil matter, but it is directly related to the safety of travel, the cost of transportation and the speed of rotation of the economic wheels.
With the increase in the volume of traffic in the main axes, the need to develop road infrastructure is felt more than in the past. In addition to increasing the probability of accidents, low-capacity roads, high-traffic routes and accident-prone areas can slow down the movement of the transport fleet and impose more costs on economic operators.
In such a situation, the construction of the second runway, the conversion of main roads into highways, and the completion of city belts are among the most important measures that can increase the capacity of the province's road network.
Now highway projects are being implemented in different axes of Bushehr; The projects that cover the Bushehr-Shif-Ganaveh and Dilam-Handijan routes to Ahram-Brazjan, Deir-Bushehr and Kanaratakhteh-Dalki axes, and their completion can answer part of the infrastructure needs of the province in the field of transportation and road safety.
9 highway sections on the way to completion
The General Director of Roads and Urban Development of Bushehr province, in a conversation with Mehr reporter, explained the latest status of highway projects since the beginning of the national unity government until now, and announced the implementation of many projects in the main axes of the province.
Asghar Kishorian stated: The highway projects of the province are being implemented in Bushehr-Shif-Ganaveh, Dilam-Handijan, Dilam beltway, Firozabad-Jam, Ahram-Barazjan, Deir-Kangan, Deir-Bushehr and Kanaratakhteh-Dalki axes, each of them has a role in completing the communication network and improving the road safety of the province.
With the completion and operation of 9 highway sections under construction in the national unity government, with a total length of 119.4 km, the total length of the highway network of the province will reach 873 km by the end of 1406. He added: the construction of the second lane of the second and third sections of the Bushehr-Shif-Ganaveh axis, 27 km long, is being implemented with a physical progress of 68%. The 12 km long Dilam belt has also reached 20.5% progress.
The General Director of Roads and Urban Development of Bushehr province continued: The construction of the second lane of Firozabad-Jam highway in the third segment-section B, with a length of eight kilometers and a physical progress of 15%, is underway. In the Ahram-Brazjan axis, the 54-kilometer highway construction project has an overall physical progress of 56%, and 10 kilometers of this route has been prepared for paving.
Referring to the projects in the south of the province, Kishorian said: the implementation of Deir-Kangan highway, known as Wefaq Boulevard, with a length of 9 kilometers, has 70% physical progress. Also, the construction of four-lane Deir-Bushehr highway with a length of 25 kilometers is underway with a progress of 72.5%.
He added: In the Kanatakhteh-Dalki axis, the second runway of section A, which is 7.5 km long, has 88.2% and section B, which is 6.5 km long, has 64.44% of physical progress. In addition, the 3.4 km long second ring road of Ganaveh has been put into operation.
The General Director of Roads and Urban Development of Bushehr province noted: With the completion and operation of 9 highway sections under construction in the national unity government, with a total length of 119.4 kilometers, the total length of the highway network of the province will reach 873 kilometers by the end of 1406.
highways; The link between security and economic development
The importance of highway development is not limited to increasing the length of four-lane roads. Increasing the capacity of cars, separating the flow of traffic on the roads with a second lane, improving overtaking conditions and reducing traffic interference of cars are among the benefits that can be effective in improving road safety.
Of course, the reduction of accidents is not limited to the development of infrastructure and factors such as the quality of cars, compliance with laws, road technical condition, speed management and effective monitoring of drivers' behavior also play a role in it.
Therefore, the completion of highway projects will be most effective when it is accompanied by the correction of accident-prone points, installation of signs and safety equipment, proper lighting at necessary points, and continuous maintenance of the roads.
On the other hand, Bushehr province needs an efficient road network due to its commercial ports, oil and gas industries, agricultural capacities and coastal tourism. Upgrading the main axes can reduce the time of moving goods and passengers, improve access to ports and production centers, and provide a more balanced development of different regions of the province.
Identification of 600 km of accident-prone axis
In a conversation with the Mehr reporter, Deputy Director of Civil Affairs Coordination of Bushehr Governor also informed about the implementation of several projects to increase safety and improve access to different places, referring to the development process of the province's road transport network.
Shapour Rajaei stated: Currently, 120 kilometers of new highways are under construction in different parts of Bushehr province, and upgrading the main axes to highways is being pursued with the aim of increasing traffic safety and improving communication between different regions.
He also explained about the project of the second runway of the Bushehr-Shif-Ganaveh axis: the second and third sections of this axis are 27 kilometers long in total, and their average physical progress is about 66%. The second section, 11.8 km long, has 68% and the third section, 15.2 km long, has 77% physical progress.
Bushehr governor's civil affairs coordination deputy stated: In these parts, the completion of pavement and technical buildings, including the construction of a 28-meter bridge in the third part, is one of the executive priorities.
Rajaei considered smoothing the flow of traffic, reducing traffic accidents, improving access to ports and economic and tourism centers, and strengthening transportation corridors in the south of the country as the most important goals of implementing road projects, and emphasized the need to coordinate executive bodies, contractors, and consultants to remove obstacles and complete projects according to the schedule.
Increasing road capacity by improving safety
The sum of the plans in progress shows that the development of Bushehr's road infrastructure is followed simultaneously in several strategic axes; From the northern routes connected to Dilam and Ganaveh to the central axes of Ahram and Barazjan and the southern routes leading to Deir and Kangan.
However, the amount of physical progress of the projects and the time of their exploitation will determine when these plans will lead to tangible improvement of traffic conditions. Providing stable credit, removing executive obstacles, complying with technical standards and monitoring construction quality, along with paying attention to the safety of accident-prone axes, are among the requirements for realizing the anticipated goals.
The development of highways reaches the desired result when the increase in road capacity is accompanied by the improvement of safety and basic infrastructure maintenance. The realization of this approach can, in addition to reducing some of the traffic risks, provide the basis for more reliable movement of goods and passengers and strengthen the position of Bushehr province in the transportation network of the south of the country.
