Chinese company NeodraDynamics Robotics has unveiled a giant, super-heavy humanoid robot designed to perform industrial tasks beyond the capabilities of conventional electric machines. This robot named Neo1 is placed at the level of models with a height of 4 meters.
NeodraDynamics introduced this robot in cooperation with JD Industrial during the China International Industry Fair (CIIF) 2026. The design of this robot is specifically aimed at difficult work environments where workers deal with extremely heavy loads, hazardous chemicals or critical operating conditions.
The Neo1 robot uses 41 degrees of active freedom of movement throughout its body, which makes it possible to perform complex maneuvers. 39 joints of this robot have special hydraulic parts developed by this Chinese company. The task of moving the remaining two rotary joints in the forearm is also in charge of electric actuators.
The weight of each hydraulic part is stated to be approximately one kilogram, and according to reports, it produces thrust on the scale of several tons. According to the claim of this company, the Neo1 motion system has the ability to bear and move a load equivalent to 500 kg with its two arms.
Despite the emphasis on raw physical power, the Neo1 also aims for precision operations. The Chinese company claims that this robot achieves repeatable positive and negative positioning accuracy of 0.005 mm. Such an indicator can make this platform a practical option for sensitive assembly lines that require accurate moving of heavy parts.
Its hydraulic systems realize the possibility of achieving very high output power in compact dimensions, but they also bring with them several engineering challenges. Engineers in such systems have to deal with fluid pressure, sealing, high temperature, and steering and control complexities. Neo1 robot manufacturers have also combined hydraulic power with electric servo control systems to balance heavy load capacity and positioning accuracy.
The intended application areas for this platform are not limited to conventional factory environments. This robot can be used to assemble huge parts and move cargo in industrial ports. Its hydraulic structure is also prepared for operations in which physical shocks, chemical pollution or harsh climatic conditions seriously challenge the performance of conventional robotic systems.
Nuclear facilities and power plants are considered other potential applications of this robot. According to the manufacturer's claim, radiation-resistant hydraulic modules can play an effective role in moving nuclear fuel and overhauling the equipment of these centers; Of course, the operational use of this capability will require approval procedures according to the levels of radioactive rays and the safety requirements of each center. Other applications such as underwater engineering and mining are also among the plans of Neo1 developers.
Despite all the above features, these applications have been proposed only in the form of potential capabilities and are not yet possible to be used operationally. The available technical data does not guarantee the continuous performance of this robot in high-pressure industrial conditions, and this platform must pass numerous field tests to prove its endurance, reliability and practical efficiency.
