Negligence and Delays by the Natural Resources Organization Have Allowed Pest Infestation to Spread in Chitgar and Sarkheh-Hesar Trees

A member and deputy chair of the Tehran City Council's Health and Environment Commission, criticizing the Natural Resources Organization's handling of the pest infestation in the Chitgar and Sarkheh-Hesar parks, said that delays in starting the process of cutting and removing infected trees allowed the pest to spread in both parks, forcing the municipality to turn to the judiciary to begin necessary action.

The member and vice-chairman of the health and environment commission of Tehran city council criticized the performance of the natural resources organization in dealing with the tree pest in Chitgar and Sarkhehsar parks and said: the delay in starting the process of cutting and moving the infected trees caused the spread of the pest in these two parks. So that the municipality was forced to use the capacity of the judiciary to initiate the necessary measures.
