Hormozgan governor of Bandar Abbas said: It is necessary to conduct the necessary studies for the management of runoff and reduce the risks caused by floods with the cooperation of the Bandar Abbas municipality, institutions related to the field of urban planning and natural resources.

According to Mehr reporter, Mohammad Ashuri Taziani, in the meeting of the crisis management headquarters of the province on Monday evening, appreciated the efforts of the executive, relief, military and security agencies in the management of incidents and stated: success in crisis management does not mean ignoring shortcomings and the flaws and weaknesses identified during incidents should be taken into consideration as basic priorities to improve performance.

Emphasizing the necessity of predicting risks and taking preventive measures, he added: Considering the continuous changes and developments and the geographical conditions of the country, crisis management should be based on future research, accurate estimates and correct knowledge of the situation so that the necessary measures can be taken to reduce losses before accidents occur.

The governor of Hormozgan stated that effective prevention reduces the life and financial costs of accidents and stated: the more planning and investment is done in the field of prevention, the costs caused by accidents for executive bodies and people will be reduced.

Referring to some problems caused by heavy rains in Bandar Abbas, Ashuri Taziani considered one of the important issues in crisis management to pay attention to the natural conditions of the environment and prevent unprincipled interventions in the water flow paths and said: In urban and rural constructions, neglecting the natural conditions and changing the water paths can cause serious problems during heavy rains.

He continued: the flow of water finds its natural path and if these paths are blocked, the possibility of damage increases; Therefore, it is necessary to carry out necessary studies for the management of runoff and reducing the risks caused by floods with the cooperation of Bandar Abbas Municipality, institutions related to the field of urban planning and natural resources.

The governor of Hormozgan emphasized the necessity of planning upstream of Bandar Abbas city and noted that the natural capacities of the region should be used to direct and manage surface water. Also, some natural areas that turn into temporary lakes during the rainy season can be considered in environmental and tourism programs with expert studies.
