Ambassador Arjan: Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan emphasized in his statements that a permanent solution to the Palestinian issue requires the formation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital and based on the 1967 borders.

According to the report of Ambassador Arjan Fidan, on Thursday, at the 7th summit of the "Conference of Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia" known as SICA in Baku, in which he participated on behalf of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, he called for taking a decisive position in support of the rights of the Palestinian nation.

He said that all SICA members must adhere to the principles of peace and mutual trust, and the actions of the Zionist regime against the Palestinians are in conflict with these principles.

Referring to the membership of Palestine and the Israeli regime in SICA, the Turkish Foreign Minister accused the Zionist regime of adopting a systematic policy to suppress and violate the fundamental rights of the Palestinian nation and added that the current situation requires clear support for the rights of the Palestinians and confronting the continuation of these actions.

Fidan also emphasized the necessity of using artificial intelligence as a platform for comprehensive cooperation, not a tool for conflict or monopoly, and said that increasing communication and cooperation between Asian countries can contribute to sustainable development in this continent.

The SICA mechanism was proposed in 1992 AD (1371 AD) at the initiative of Nursultan Nazarbayev, the then president of Kazakhstan.

Iran is one of the 28 member countries of SICA. The seventh summit of SICA was held on October 15, 2026 (23 Mehr 1405) in Baku, the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
