Qom Has the Capacity to Become the Capital of the Quran, Nahj al-Balagha, and Sahifa Sajjadiyya

Qom – The Quran and Ithrat Director of the Qom Provincial Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance announced the province's readiness to be selected as the country's capital of the Quran, Nahj al-Balagha, and Sahifa Sajjadiyya.

According to Mehr reporter, Mohammad Khameyar said in a conversation with reporters on Wednesday morning, referring to Qom's extensive scientific, research and cultural capacities in the field of Islamic education: this province has announced its readiness to be chosen as the capital of the Quran, Nahjul Balagha and Sahifa Sajjadiyeh, and has also presented documents related to its capabilities.

He added: Qom has excellent capacities to host this event due to the presence of specialized centers of Quranic sciences, the presence of prominent professors and commentators, the activity of research institutions and the publication of valuable religious works, and we are trying to make this important cultural and religious event happen in the name of this city.

The director of Qur'an and Attar of Qom's General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, emphasizing the historical and scientific position of this city in the expansion of Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) knowledge, said: "Choosing Qom as the capital of these three areas can be an opportunity to introduce the province's scientific and Qur'anic capacities more widely and preserve the efforts of several generations of scholars, researchers and researchers."

Referring to the measures taken to investigate this issue, Khameyar said: During the visit of the Quranic centers and two Sahifah Sajjadiyeh foundations in Qom, the representatives of the Vice-Chancellor of the Quran of the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance got to know some of the capabilities of this city, and in the meetings held with the scholars of the Qur'an, Nahj al-Balagha and Sahifah Sajjadiyeh, and a number of provincial officials, the various aspects of this proposal were discussed and exchanged opinions.

Qom is ready to introduce its Quranic capacities

Pointing to the necessity of documenting and coherent introduction of the capabilities of the province in the field of Islamic education, he stated: We have announced our readiness to compile a comprehensive atlas of the Qur'an in Qom to the relevant authorities so that the capacities of this province in various scientific, educational, research and cultural sectors can be comprehensively introduced.

Khameyar continued: If this plan is implemented, capacities such as Shia commentators, Quranic works and translations, specialized centers and institutions, internet sites, Quranic libraries, Quran memorizers and other related fields can be collected in this atlas and made available to those interested.

Referring to the meetings held with some elders of the Qom seminary, the director of the Qur'an and Attar of the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Qom stated: The issue of the province's readiness to accept this cultural and educational responsibility was brought up in these meetings and was praised.

He also listed Qom's possession of hundreds of professors of Quranic sciences and commentators, dozens of specialized institutions in the field of Quran, Nahj al-Balagha and Sahifa Sajjadiyeh, interpretation centers, Quran memorizers, prominent Quranic figures, two large Quran printing houses and translation centers among the significant capacities of this province.

The scientific position of Qom is distinguished in the publication of knowledge

Stating that Qom has a prominent position in the field of publishing and promoting religious and Quranic knowledge, Khameyar said: Qom is known as one of the main centers for the spread of Islamic knowledge, and the official selection of this city as the capital of the Quran, Nahj al-Balagha, and Sahifa Sajjadiyeh can be a tribute to the scientific and research efforts of researchers and intellectuals who have worked in these fields throughout history.

He considered the presence of students from different countries in the seminary of Qom as a sign of the scientific and international capacity of this city and added: the existence of the luminous court of Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (S), the seminary and the great authorities of Taqlid, has provided a valuable capital for Qom, which has been the basis for the expansion of scientific, religious and educational activities in this city.

In the end, the Director of Qur'an and Attar of the General Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Qom asked the executive officials and cultural activists to move with more effort in the direction of developing Quranic and educational symbols and provide a more appropriate introduction of religious and cultural capacities of the province.
