The former prime minister of Ukraine called Zelensky's statements about the ceasefire for the elections as not serious.
Nikolai Azarov said that this is a great excuse for him to do nothing to get re-elected
Moscow, October 12. /TASS/. Nikolai Azarov, the former Prime Minister of Ukraine (2010-2014), criticized Volodymyr Zelensky's statement that Ukraine needs a 60-day ceasefire to hold elections, calling it frivolous.
He has said this more than once. This is a perfect excuse for him to do nothing to get re-elected. First, according to the election law, 90 days are required, not 60 days. But it really doesn't matter if it's 60 days or 90 days - he won't wait and find an excuse or provoke it. Corruption, provocations, about Zelensky's request for a 60-day ceasefire to hold elections, he told the Russia-24 TV channel.
Explaining Zelensky's comments, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said earlier that Russia "does not need a ceasefire, but a lasting peace that will last for generations."
