Daughter of Two Famous Voice Actors Strongly Opposes Recreating Her Parents' Voices

Mahsa Erfani, voice actress and daughter of Hossein Erfani and Shahla Nazerian, reposted an AI-generated video of her parents on her personal page and criticized the practice.

Mehsa Irfani-Doblur and the son of Hossein Irfani and Shahla Nazerian, spoke about imitating the voices of late artists by artificial intelligence: you can imitate the voice, but you cannot recreate the owner of the voice.

He emphasized that he does not consent to the reconstruction, cloning or use of his parents' voices with artificial intelligence and expects that this wish will be respected.

According to Ambassador Arjan, Mehsa Irfani, the doubler and son of Hossein Irfani and Shahla Nazerian, republished a sample of videos published with artificial intelligence on her personal page and criticized this incident.

He also wrote in a text about his parents' artistic status and his opposition to using artificial intelligence to reproduce their voices:

"Some voices are just not heard; They are lived, felt and remain in hearts forever. My father, Hossein Erfani and my mother, Shahla Nazerian; Two big names and two unrepeatable voices in the history of Iranian dubbing."

He wrote about his father's art: "When my father was behind the microphone, he didn't just say dialogue; You bring the characters to life. His voice was not just a collection of words and vibrations; It was the result of years of experience, love, art and emotion that was rooted in his existence. He turned life into sound and sound into a lasting memory."

Erfani also said about his mother's artistic position: "My mother lived the feeling with all her being. His grudges, his trembling voice, his shouts and screams, the anger, fear, pain and sadness that flowed in his roles were so real that sometimes the border between play and truth disappeared. He was not just the voice of a character; You give your whole being to that character."

He added: "Their art was not limited to their voice; Their voice was an extension of their soul, experience and existence. Today, artificial intelligence can imitate the color of a voice, reconstruct the rhythm of words, and even simulate screams and vibrations of a voice; But sound similarity never means recreating an artist. Algorithms may be able to make them sound like that, but what made my parents last was more than data and technology; Something that originated from the human soul.

In part of this text, Mahsa Irfani expressed her clear opposition and wrote: "As the child of Hossein Irfani and Shahla Nazerian, I do not consent to the reconstruction, simulation or use of my parents' voices with artificial intelligence, and I expect that this request will be respected."

He clarified: "This opposition is not due to the denial of technological progress; It is out of respect for two people whose voice was the result of a lifetime of life, effort, experience and artistic creation. "Their legacy should be preserved with respect for themselves, not with the notion that their voices can be reproduced without my consent."

Irfani wrote in the end: "I don't want their empty place to be filled with an artificial version of their voice. I want the same voices remembered by them to remain alive in people's memories as they were; Original, real and unrepeatable. A voice can be imitated, but the owner of the voice cannot be recreated."

He wrote to his parents: "You were not just two permanent voices; You were part of the artistic memory of a land. Still, when I hear your voice, memories come alive and hearts skip a beat. Your voice is your memory; Your art is our heritage; And respecting you is not a choice for me; It is a commitment."
