Khuzestan Seeks to Restore Its 21% Share of National GDP
Khuzestan's Director-General of Industry, Mine and Trade said the province aims to raise its share of national GDP from 15.2% to 21% by the end of Iranian year 1410, identifying industrial infrastructure development and completion of value chains as key pillars for achieving the target.
The director general of industry, mining and trade of Khuzestan announced the goal of increasing the share of the province in the country's gross domestic product from 15.2% to 21% by the end of 1410 and considered the development of industrial infrastructure and the completion of value chains as one of the pillars of achieving this goal.
According to the report of Ambassador Arjan of Khuzestan, Mehram Ravanbakhsh, Director General of Industry, Mining and Trade of Khuzestan, emphasized the necessity of continuing the development of industrial and production infrastructure and stated: Economic development should not be stopped even in difficult conditions and the continuation of production activities can provide the basis for the growth and dynamism of the province's economy.
Referring to the decrease in the share of Khuzestan in the country's gross domestic product, he said: the share of this province in the gross domestic product was about 21% in the past years, which reached 15.2% in 1401. Re-increasing this share until the end of 1410 is one of the important goals of economic development of the province.
Director General of Khuzestan Samt added: Andimshek is considered one of the target cities for the development of industrial infrastructure due to its economic and geographic capacities and advantages, and in recent years, various projects in the field of production and industry have been implemented in this city.
Ravanbakhsh considered the completion of value chains and the development of conversion industries as one of the main approaches of the industry and mining sector and said: the incompleteness of the production chain has caused a part of the products of the province to leave Khuzestan without processing; While the creation of conversion industries can create more added value within the province.
Referring to the annual production of about one million and 100 thousand tons of sugar in Khuzestan, he said: a part of this product is transferred to other provinces for processing, and the completion of the sugar value chain can provide an opportunity to increase the production of processed products, create employment and strengthen the economy of the region.
Ravanbakhsh considered the beginning of the executive operation of the sugar refining and sugar and cane production plan in Andimeshk as a step in this direction and added: the establishment of processing units near the place of production of raw materials, in addition to reducing transportation costs, can help reduce the cost of finished products.
He also emphasized the necessity of facilitating private sector investment and providing financial resources for industrial projects and said: cooperation between executive bodies, operating banks and investors can speed up the process of implementing productive and employment-creating projects.
Referring to the agricultural and industrial capacities of Andimshek, Director General of Khuzestan noted that the development of infrastructure and the completion of the value chain of products are among the measures that can help strengthen the economic status of the province and realize the goals set to increase the share of Khuzestan in the country's gross domestic product.
