During its legal battle with Apple, OpenAI claimed that one of the company's former employees removed more than 100 confidential files related to product development programs and provided them to its managers before going to Apple. According to documents filed with the court, this person first sent the information to his personal email and then presented them in a meeting to senior Apple executives, including the company's vice president of operations in Asia.

This complaint is a continuation of a wider lawsuit between Apple and OpenAI over the theft of business and business secrets; But this time, OpenAI is the plaintiff. According to the company, the stolen documents included photos of at least one undisclosed device, specifications of component manufacturers, technical and engineering information, and reports on the insulation and coating of hardware components.

OpenAI has even claimed that Apple's new smart home display called HomeView and other devices that the company recently introduced were designed and built using the same leaked information. Of course, it should be noted that Apple's projects usually take several years, and the news of its smart display has been in the news for years. On the other hand, Apple has previously accused OpenAI of stealing the company's confidential documents in order to build its own artificial intelligence devices.

OpenAI has stated that it is concerned that its data will be leaked inside Apple and that the company's engineers will build their next products based on its innovations. However, in a recent court hearing, OpenAI voluntarily agreed not to use information and secrets attributed to Apple until the case is resolved.

The decision comes after a judge said he would likely grant Apple's request for a temporary injunction against OpenAI. Also, according to the court's agreement, a copy and technical examination of the devices of 14 OpenAI employees who may have Apple's confidential information will be prepared. However, the judge rejected Apple's initial request to search all systems, and Apple's attorneys have agreed to limit the searches to only a few specific employees.
