Europe at Risk of Being Sidelined in Ukraine Settlement Without Talks with Russia: Politician

Marion Maréchal Believes France Cannot Benefit from Severing Ties with Russia

Paris, October 14. /TASS/. Marion Marshall, the leader of France's right-wing "Identity and Freedoms" party and the niece of Marine Le Pen, the leader of the National Rally parliamentary faction, said that Europe should talk to Russia in order not to be left out of the Ukraine settlement process.

"How can the conflict be resolved? How can the war be ended without entering into a diplomatic dialogue with the direct participants at some point? I think sooner or later, such an action will become inevitable. If the Europeans take a step, the Americans, the Middle East countries or Turkey will do it. But in this case, we will be completely left out of the negotiation process," he told French TV channel LCI.

Marshall believes that France cannot benefit from breaking ties with Russia. He noted: There are diplomatic challenges that must be addressed at some point.
