Referring to the aggression of the US and the Zionist regime against Iran on March 9, 1404, Barzani announced on Monday that with the beginning of regional conflicts, this region closed its border with Iran and deployed forces along it.
Barzani said in a meeting on the sidelines of "Mari Assembly" held by the Middle East Research Institute in Erbil: Iran is our neighbor, this war was not our war, and the Kurdistan Region will not become a platform for threats against Iran.
He warned: No armed group should be allowed to threaten neighboring countries from the territory of the Kurdistan Region. Such an action has been rejected at the international level and is prohibited according to the laws and constitution of Iraq.

Barzani emphasized that the Kurdistan region's policy has been to completely keep Kurdistan away from this war since the beginning of the tensions between America and Iran.
He noted: In this regard, the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has been in daily contact with Baghdad and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK). Despite the political differences, the Kurdish and Baghdad parties agree on strategic issues and have worked together to protect the Kurdistan Region.
Anti-Iranian groups have had camps in the Kurdistan Region for decades. Earlier, some sources stated that two drones targeted the so-called "Azadi" camp belonging to experimentalist groups in the "Koya" area in the east of Erbil.
