Haghshenas: All Capacities Must Be Mobilized to Complete Lakan Hospital

Rasht – Gilan's governor, noting the 95% physical progress of the 421-bed Lakan Hospital in Rasht, said all capacities must be mobilized to complete the hospital.

According to Mehr reporter, Hadi Haqshanas on Wednesday evening in the review meeting of the latest construction status of the 421-bed Lakan Hospital in Rasht, which was held in the presence of Ali Nuzarpour, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and CEO of the Executive Organization of Public and Government Buildings and Facilities, contractors and representatives of executive bodies, emphasized the need to accelerate the completion of this medical project.

Stating that Lakan Hospital is in the final stages of construction, he said: This project has reached 94-95% physical progress and it should be completed by providing credit on time, removing executive obstacles and coordination between the responsible institutions.

The floating population increases the need for treatment in Gilan

Referring to the lack of hospital infrastructure in the province, the governor of Gilan added: Gilan, in addition to the resident population, hosts millions of travelers and tourists every year, and the presence of this floating population puts additional pressure on the medical centers.

Emphasizing the necessity of developing the province's medical infrastructure, Haqshanas said: Lakan Hospital can meet part of the medical needs of the people of Gilan on the one hand, and on the other hand, it can increase the capacity of the province's health system to provide services to travelers and tourists.

He expressed that the financing of this project should be done according to its importance in the field of health, and appreciated the follow-ups of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development, the Executive Organization of Public and Government Buildings and Facilities, and the representatives of the people of Gilan in the Islamic Council, especially the representatives of Rasht.

The high representative of the government in Gilan continued: The coordinations made have been effective in the progress of the project and now all available capacities should be used to complete the remaining sections and operate this hospital.

Delays in project completion increase costs

The governor of Gilan considered the prolongation of the implementation time of construction projects as one of the factors that increase the finished cost of the projects and clarified: the increase in the price of construction materials, equipment and exchange rate will continuously increase the cost of implementing the projects and the continuation of this process will cause more problems for the employer, contractor and people.

Referring to the start of operational operations of Lakan Hospital in 2013, Haqshanas said: the prolongation of the implementation process of this project and the increase in costs have caused the contractor's demands to exceed the initial estimates; Therefore, legal, credit and executive capacities should be used to provide the required resources.

He emphasized: Every day the delay in the completion of the hospital, in addition to increasing the project costs, also postpones the benefit of the people from this important medical infrastructure. Therefore, providing financial resources and removing the remaining obstacles should be seriously put on the agenda of the responsible institutions.

Pursuing the Ministry of Roads to provide resources and remove obstacles

In the continuation of this meeting, Ali Nuzarpour, Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development and CEO of Public and Government Buildings and Facilities Management Organization, considered Lakan Hospital as one of the important infrastructure projects of the Gilan health sector and said: The implementation process of this project is continuously reviewed and the removal of existing obstacles is on the agenda with the cooperation of the responsible institutions.

Referring to the financing capacities of the project, he added: using the resources foreseen in the budget, bank facilities and other financing capacities can help speed up the process of project implementation, and the necessary follow-ups will be done to direct these resources to the final stages of the hospital's construction.

The Deputy Minister of Roads and Urban Development also emphasized on the assignment of ancillary infrastructure and providing suitable conditions for the continuation of the contractors' activities and said: By strengthening the coordination between the executive bodies and providing the required resources, the implementation of the remaining parts of the hospital can be speeded up.

In this meeting, the latest status of physical progress and financial resources of the project, provision of medical equipment, access road, intersection of Lakan road and hospital parking were reviewed and decisions were taken to accelerate the implementation of the remaining sections.
