The original Baywatch series debuted in 1989 and at its peak was the world's most-watched series, airing in more than 200 countries. The ensemble cast included David Hasselhoff as lifeguard chief Mitch Buchanan and helped launch the acting careers of stars such as Pamela Anderson, Jason Momoa, Jasmine Blythe and Carmen Electra. The show was also a spin-off of "BaywatchNights" and was rebooted in 2017 as a failed feature film starring Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron.
