The five-match series ended in a 2-2 draw before the match in Bengaluru after a record-breaking run by the tourists that pushed the T20 World Cup holders to the maximum.

Al Jazeera Sport takes a look at what is shaping up to be a must-see match.

The teams played three one-day internationals to kick off the white-ball tour, which saw India take an unassailable lead after opening eight wickets in Thiruvananthapuram and Guwahati.

After posting a score of 351-7 from their 50 overs - largely thanks to KL Rahul's 129 off 87 balls - in New Chandigarh, India felt they had enough on the board to win the third game as well.

Enter West Indies captain Shai Hope. The opener hit 162 off 143 balls in an unbeaten knock that led his team to a five-wicket victory.

It was West Indies' highest ODI run chase.

How did the India-West Indies T20 series begin?

India overcame the disappointment of a final ODI series defeat by claiming eight wins in 5.2 overs in the first T20 of the series.

Despite fifties from Hope and Sherfan Rutherford, the West Indies were bowled out for 171 with Naman Dhir taking three wickets for the hosts.

Hope then hit an unbeaten 102 off just 45 balls in the second innings to take the West Indies to a record-breaking 20-run chase.

Hope hit nine sixes and six boundaries as West Indies finished on 252-4 in reply to India's 249-5.

India regained their lead in the third match, but only by a narrow 14-run victory.

After getting out from the last ball of their innings, India scored 223 - led by Abhishek Sharma's 69 off 30 balls.

Arshdeep Singh claimed three wickets as West Indies were restricted to 209-7.

What happened in the last T20 between India and West Indies?

It was time to show hope again in the fourth game of the T20 tour as the wicketkeeper smashed his second century of the series.

The tourists scored 247 for 3 and Hope scored an unbeaten 102.

His nine sixes and four fours were a record for a West Indian batsman in T20 Internationals.

The total was the second-highest first innings score in T20s against India, behind England's 257-3 at Southampton this year.

Sanju Samson got India off to a good start with 56 off 23 balls, but Keemo Paul took five wickets to guide the West Indies to a 24-run win.

What joke did Shai Hope make about her man of the match awards?

Hope joked after the fourth T20 that he was worried about having to pay the extra charge after picking up his third Man of the Match award on the tour of India.

"Honestly, they are a bit heavy and we have to check the weight of the luggage," he said after the win.

"I think we're going to have some trouble getting home."
