Sirik Lawmaker Comments on Attack on Fishing Boat | 4 Injured

A fishing boat belonging to the Kargan and Kolahi areas was targeted in a drone attack in the coastal waters of Sirik County, and four of its sailors and crew members were injured.

Ambassador Arjan - Majidjebari: This morning, in an incident, a barge belonging to a fisherman living in Bandar Kolahi in Hormozgan province, about 18 miles from the coast of Bandaran village, was hit by an enemy drone.

The representative of Minab, Jask and Sirik in the parliament stated that four of the sailors of this barge were injured and are hospitalized in Hazrat Abulfazl Minab hospital, and told Ambassador Arjan: "The incident happened in the coastal waters of the south of Hormozgan province at the same time as the shrimp fishing season."

Seyyed Abdul Karim Hashemi pointed out that the barge had eight sailors and a crew when the accident occurred, and added: This vessel was targeted by a drone attack during fishing activity in the morning and four of its passengers were seriously injured.

Hashemi Nakhel Ebrahimi also explained about the latest condition of the injured: all four people have been transferred to Minab Hospital to receive medical services and are hospitalized. The severity of the injuries was such that it was not possible to treat them on an outpatient basis.

Referring to the history of attacks on fishing and cargo vessels in the coastal waters of the region, the representative of Minab, Jask and Sirik said: "Unfortunately, this is not the first time that barges and fishing boats and cargo vessels have been attacked in the coastal waters of this region." In these incidents, in addition to many people being injured, we have witnessed the death of people as well.
