Ledger has asked vendors and distributors of its devices in six Southeast Asian countries and Hong Kong to suspend sales and remove their hardware wallets from shelves as it investigates reports of tampered devices.

In a post on Tuesday on X, Ledger said the request includes sellers in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, Malaysia and Hong Kong.

"To be clear, as the investigation continues, only confirmed cases from Southeast Asia remain. We have not confirmed a drain associated with a device purchased elsewhere," Ledger said.

He added: "Investigations are continuing to determine who tampered with these devices and where in the distribution chain this happened."

The broader sales suspension request expands on Ledger's previous request for the CryptoBilis seller to stop selling and shipping. The investigation became public on Oct. 9 after reports of crypto theft linked to devices purchased through the vendor.

Since then, users in other regions, including Europe, have reported finding suspicious tampering with devices purchased from retailers.

"We have no indication that Ledger's infrastructure, systems or services or direct sales channel have been compromised," the company said.
