Los Angeles Dodgers World Series champion Miguel Rojas retired from baseball on Thursday at the age of 37.
After the Milwaukee Brewers defeated the Dodgers 6-4 to complete the sweep and advance to the World Series, an emotional Rojas said he was hanging up his spikes.
"No, I think that's it, guys," Rojas told reporters after the game. This was my last game. This was the last time I wore these cleats and this uniform as a player. From now on, I'm thinking about what's going to happen in my life as a baseball player."
Rojas was responsible for one of the biggest swings in Dodgers history. In the ninth inning of Game 7 of the 2025 World Series, with the Dodgers trailing the Toronto Blue Jays by one run, Rojas hit a solo home run to send the game into extra innings. The Dodgers went on to win the game and win their second consecutive World Series.
The two-time World Series champion may have retired from the game, but he plans to stay in baseball in a different role.
"I want to start on the other side of the business and I'm looking forward to doing it here with the Los Angeles Dodgers. It's really hard because I never wanted to do the big conference or anything like that, but I just wanted to make it clear to the guys and everybody in this clubhouse that this is it. I'm ready to move on and start the next season of my career," Rojas said.

Rojas started his career with the Dodgers but was traded to the Miami Marlins after his first season. He spent the next eight seasons with Miami before being traded back to Los Angeles before the 2023 season.
The utility player said the past four seasons with the Dodgers have been life-changing.
"Yeah, the last four years here have been life-changing for me, and I couldn't be more proud to be a Los Angeles Dodger during my time here, and I pledge my loyalty to the guys forever because they helped me grow. "And not just as a player, but as a person, as a leader, as a future coach or whatever job is going to be done as a baseball man in the future, and I'm very happy to wear this jersey until the last day of my career."
I know losing the last game of the season this year is not like the last two years, but there is a lot to be happy and proud to be part of this group and try to make it three wins in a row. It was something special and it's something I'll remember forever, the good, the bad, the ups and the downs, it's all part of the process and it's all part of the journey."
At 13, Rojas has been known more for his defense than his offense throughout his career and is valued for his versatility on the pitch. In 1,401 career games, he batted .260 with 61 home runs and 386 RBI.
