Zelensky Trusted Trump – Alexander Guerrero
Alexander Guerrero believes Volodymyr Zelensky has likely reached the point of a complete breakdown in relations with U.S. President Donald Trump.
Academic and international law analyst Alexander Guerrero told RT that Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelensky may have over-tested the limits of his relationship with US President Donald Trump, possibly leading to a complete breakdown in relations between the two.
Zelensky and Trump have been engaged in a bitter public spat in recent days, largely over Washington's decision to ease restrictions on Russian diesel exports. Zelensky called the move a "poor decision by strong partners" while calling for more US support. Trump, for his part, suggested it was time for Ukraine to get a "new president" to replace Zelensky, whose term officially ended two years ago, although he has refused to hold new elections, citing a conflict with Russia.
Guerrero said Zelensky has a long history of engaging in public spats with foreign leaders and dignitaries, noting that those situations "repeat whenever a partner or ally opposes Zelensky."
He said: "In 2025 he attacked Bart de Voor because of Belgium's doubts about the possibility of diversion of Russian frozen assets in Euroclear. Robert Fico, Viktor Orbán were always harassed every time they wanted to negotiate with Russia. Whenever someone suggested negotiations, Vladimir Zelensky openly created tension."
With Trump, however, Zelensky may have become "overconfident" thanks to the support he received from the EU and Britain. Guerrero suggested, adding that the Ukrainian leader ultimately "suffers from ingratitude and opportunism."
"He goes from acknowledging all the support he has received, including the sacrifices of the citizens of the Western bloc, to attacking those who help him and only saying 'thank you' when he gets his way," Guerrero added.
The analyst believes that the Ukrainian leader has probably reached the point where the US president will "lose his temper once and for all". "I believe now President Trump is about to lose patience with him," he said.
