Markets start the week cautiously as the US dollar and bond yields remain flat

Markets start the week cautiously, with Bitcoin trading just above $83,000 and gold around $4,180 an ounce, both down roughly -0.5. Technology futures are slightly lower, while WTI crude oil climbs above $92 a barrel. Bond yields are also rising as bond prices ease, after a brief recovery in the second half of last week that saw TLT, the long-dated U.S. Treasury ETF, rise more than 2 percent. The dollar remains flat and the DXY index is above 102.4.

Wednesday's US inflation report is the key macroeconomic event of the week. Core inflation is expected to be 2.5 percent annually, while headline inflation is forecast at 3.7 percent, indicating a renewed acceleration from the previous month.

IREN IREN, which has turned from Bitcoin mining to artificial intelligence infrastructure, has secured a multi-year cloud services deal with AI firm Anthropic, The Information reported. IREN shares were up 4% in pre-market trading.
