The chair of the Legal and Oversight Commission of the Karaj City Council criticized ambiguity in some cultural spending outside Karaj Municipality budget lines, stressing the need to adhere to council resolutions and legal regulations in allocating funds.

The head of the Legal and Supervision Commission of the Islamic Council of Karaj, criticizing the ambiguity in some cultural expenditures outside of the municipal budget, emphasized the need to comply with the council's approvals and legal regulations in the allocation of credits.

According to Ambassador Arjan Alborz and quoted by Alborz newspaper, Javad Chaperdar in the cultural, social and sports commission of the Shura, referring to the funds allocated to religious bodies on occasions such as Muharram and Arba'in, said: "For some cultural and religious activities, there are lines of credit, Riyal figures, and legal approvals, but they still do not have these legal funds fully at their disposal."

He raised questions about how to financially support galleries and artists and added: If there is a bill or resolution for the implementation of these programs, the documentation should be clear. Because, on the one hand, it is impossible to emphasize the necessity of following the law and council approvals, and on the other hand, he did not have clear information about the basis of some expenses.

Why hasn't the municipality implemented the approvals for the artists' building and the Milad gallery? If this lawless method is more effective, tell us to spend the time of the commission, the council, draft bills and approvals on something else.

The head of the Legal and Supervision Commission of the Islamic Council of Karaj city stated: It is expected that the relevant authorities will explain about the financing method and the legal authorizations of these measures in order to determine whether the expenditures were made within the framework of the Council's approvals or not.

He emphasized: Transparency in the spending of public resources and adherence to council approvals is a necessity that should be considered in all cultural programs of the municipality. Under the pretext of cultural, sports or even religious work, violations of the law or disobedience of the approved budgets should not be realized.
