Eight months after announcing that she is in remission from tongue cancer, Jodie Sweetin is giving her "Full House" co-star Dave Collier a health update.

Speaking to People, Sweetin said Collier is doing "really well," and she just spent a weekend at his house with Andrea Barber, who plays Kimmy Gibbler on the ABC sitcom. The actor admitted that Collier has "been through such an uphill battle" and explained that it "means a lot to sit down and have coffee with him in the morning." The two recently connected at an art fundraiser in Detroit, which "was a lot of fun," he added. "He's doing great." Sweetin also noted that their bond has continued since they starred together on screen more than 30 years ago. "We're still very close," he said. "We're all playing the 90s next weekend in Hartford. Yeah, we're annoyingly close...we're family." Popular in Variety

Sweetin played Stephanie Tanner in the popular sitcom, while Collier played Joey Gladstone, Danny Tanner's best friend (although he is referred to as "Uncle Joey" in the series). Full House aired for eight seasons, from 1987 to 1995

In February, Collier revealed that she was on the mend after being treated for tongue cancer, a diagnosis she shared in December. He had beaten stage 3 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma nearly a year earlier. "It's been a rollercoaster for sure," Collier said during an appearance on "Good Morning America." "I'm in recovery with both cancers. And what a journey it's been."

Three months later, the actress took to social media to respond to fans who had pointed out her change in appearance after both cancers, sharing on Instagram that she hadn't been able to eat solid food for months and had lost 45 pounds.

"Hi everyone, I'm Dave, and I haven't posted in a while and the last time I did some of you said I look different, and I sound different, and I have," she began the video. "And what you're seeing is the side effects of the extensive radiation I went through for my throat cancer...it's affected my ability to speak, some of you have said I speak differently. So you're right about what you're seeing and hearing."
