Activision has officially confirmed the creation of a new Call of Duty series to set a completely different path for the future of this shooter franchise after years of repeating two popular series.

Fans of the first-person shooter genre are always looking for radical changes in their popular works. In a situation where the video game industry had moved towards repetitive experiences, the news of the beginning of a new direction could bring back the lost excitement.

Activision's big turnaround and the end of the Black Ops era

Activision's chief marketing officer has stated that the company does not plan to produce sequels to the current franchises because the player community wants a completely fresh narrative tone and atmosphere. Plans have been made to release a story line and an independent world to stop the cycle of consecutive releases of previous titles. On the other hand, Triarc Studio has announced that it is working on an unprecedented project, and Sledgehammer Games will probably be in charge of the 2027 version.

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 will have a new multiplayer mode similar to Counter Strike

The release of Modern Warfare 4 and the future of the studios

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 will be released on October 23 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and S, and Switch 2. Pre-purchasing this title will provide early access to the story on October 16th and the DMZ mode on October 20th. Also, by handing over the management of the Halo franchise to Activision, there is a possibility of close cooperation between the shooter studios of this series in making the next version of Halo.
