'Untold': Netflix's Series to Take On Dyjon Love (Exclusive)

Hold on to Your Niners Hats.

If only Daejon Love worked as hard at running routes as he did at scamming women, maybe he would actually make it to the major leagues. Probably not - and if he had, we wouldn't have a potentially great unspoken episode of all time to look forward to.

The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively that the next documentary in Netflix's Great Untold series will focus on Love, who cheated on women while appearing as a free agent with the San Francisco 49ers. Untold: Wide Deceiver (good) "so called by those affected by the scam," we reveal the "viral nickname and the much darker story it revealed."

On August 24, 2026, Love was arrested for wire fraud after a group of women, his alleged victims, came forward to law enforcement. Prior to Love's arrest, numerous social media videos, photos and text messages of Love to women and businesses promoting his status as a Niners receiver, including one of Love running and catching a ball on the beach wearing a 49ers helmet, went viral. (He almost always had that helmet with him.)

Another popular post was a photo of a San Francisco jersey number 7 cake (love's fake number) that she said the Niners sent her on her birthday. (San Francisco has an actual wide receiver who wears No. 7: De'Zhaun Stribling changed his jersey number from 15 in the preseason, when Love's changed. The scam made headlines and went to 7 in the regular season. It was a good play because sales of the 49ers' No. 7 jersey started to increase at the same time.)

Love DMs to businesses often ask for outlandish treatment, including free goods and services and for the company to provide personal security details.

The Love Untold doesn't yet have a director or cast list, but a source close to the production says it will focus on the women and their stories. (Thus, Dejon itself probably doesn't exist.)

Untold: Wide Deceiver comes from Propagate and Stardust Frames in association with North of Now and The Cut. Ben Silverman, Howard T. Owens, McLean Way, Chapman Way, Ryan Duffy, Isabel San Vargas, Aaron Ginsburg, William Green, Andrew Renzi and Nick Book are executive producers.

The Way Brothers are the creators of Untold, a series that “dives deep into the fantastical and vast (and wild) world of sports as described by Netflix. These gripping, character-driven stories feature raw, first-person perspectives from those at the heart of the action – revealing the determination, failures and surprising truths revealed behind the scenes.”
