I mod GTA 5 every day to either make it a PC version of GTA 6 or completely screw it up. Come back tomorrow to find out what horrible new thing I've done with the rock star baby, or check out what I've done before.
World War II Canadian Air Force pilot John Gillespie Magee Jr. once wrote in his poem Flying High:
Oh! I have slipped the vague bonds of earth
And they danced the skies on silver wings of laughter.
I ascended to the sun and joined the rolling joy
The sun split from the clouds, and did a hundred things
He was talking about Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, his favorite game and an icon of the PS2 generation consoles. In San Andreas, which was located in the Green Meadows airfield, the player could find the jetpack and jump like a glorious star in the sky of Las Venturas. GTA 5? No jetpack is why it's a poor game.
until now I have installed Aerowing - Wearable Jet Pack & Weapon System. Well, I installed it, tried to run the game, my computer crashed, rebooted, tried to run the game, crashed the game, rebooted, then ran the game.
It's an oddly luxurious mod, I'll give it that. You don't just hit the F and sort of limply climb, which was mostly the case in San Andreas. No, you get a full animation, the camera looping of your son doing the probably copyrighted Iron Man pose and launching himself into the sky.
I have given the GTA 5 cars a Bond style ejector seat
I have saved GTA 5 from death and also added tornadoes
I have added cheats to GTA 5, but I may have cheated myself
Then you move, there's a speedometer in the corner that measures your bravery and it fires one of three weapons: SMG, plasma, and a "pipe", which I'm pretty sure is just the SMG again.
It's a good time, and it'll be even better when I find a way to do it that doesn't also contribute to my street golf mod. Until then, with a silent mind, I tread the unconquered sacredness of space, reach out and touch God's face.

GTA 6 PC release: when is it happening?
One of Josh's earliest memories is playing Quake 2 on the family computer when he was too young to do so, and he has been irreparably addicted to the mind game ever since. His writing has appeared in Vice, Fanbyte, and the Financial Times. He'll play just about anything, and he's written about everything from visual novels to Assassin's Creed. His deepest love is for CRPGs, immersive sims, and any game whose ambition exceeds its budget. He thinks you're too mean about Deus Ex: Invisible War.
