When New York Giants quarterback Jackson Dart introduced Donald Trump at a rally, media figures such as Jamel Hill, Bowmany Jones and Dan Le Batard were quick to blast him. Yet when Green Bay Packers tight end Josh Jacobs faced allegations of domestic abuse and subsequent charges, those same critics offered a deafening silence.

A jury found former NFL player Tyreek Hill responsible for two separate incidents involving his wife Liquita Vaccaro and awarded him $500,000 at the end of their battery divorce trial on Tuesday.

The same Miami County jury that found Hill guilty of the two battery charges also found him guilty of five other counts against Vaccaro, none of the assault, one count of intentional infliction of emotional distress against Vaccaro, and none of the continuing violence charges against Vaccaro.

Vaccaro's attorneys earlier Tuesday also agreed to dismiss another battery count.

So Hill, in the court's view, emerges from this trial looking like a wife who committed two counts of beating her husband by a preponderance of the evidence. But the same standard of preponderance of the evidence shows that he did not beat or assault Vaccaro, which is related to the other six counts.

And while Hill is paying half a million dollars for battery, the verdict is a far cry from what the plaintiff might have hoped for at the start of the trial.

However, that doesn't let Hill off the hook if he wants to continue his NFL career.

Hill, who was slated to return to the NFL as early as next month and has been linked with rumors of rejoining the Kansas City Chiefs, is the subject of an ongoing investigation by the NFL under its personal conduct policy.

And the review will certainly look into the accounts of Hill beating Vaccaro.

On January 11, 2024, Vaccaro said Hill asked her to sign a postnuptial agreement, a request both sides agreed to that was at the center of much of their contention during the trial.

Vaccaro accused Hill of becoming angry and aggressive, "throwing the plaintiff's clothing and personal belongings across the room."

The charge states that Hill then "intentionally and without the plaintiff's consent violently pushed and shoved the plaintiff, knocked her to the ground, stood over her, and cornered her . . ."

Vaccaro said Hill knowingly suffocated her "by applying pressure to the plaintiff's throat or neck and/by covering the plaintiff's nose or mouth . . ."

The next incident for which the jury found Hill responsible occurred on April 7, 2025, when the couple were at their apartment in Sunny Island, Florida.

Vaccaro alleged that Hill put his hands on her, pushed her, forcibly restrained her and threw her computer.

The lawsuit against Hill continued: "As a direct and proximate result of the defendant's conduct, the plaintiff suffered bodily injuries..." The jury also agreed with that count.
