Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced in a New York court that the new charges against him are false.
Ambassador Arjan: Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro announced in a court in New York that the new charges against him are false.
According to Ambassador Arjan Maduro, in a New York court, he denied the new charges of conspiracy to use torture and said the charges were false.
According to this report, Celia Flores, the wife of the president of Venezuela, also declared during this court that she is completely innocent.
A US official had previously announced that the kidnapped president of Venezuela and his wife would face new charges, including the alleged torture of US citizens imprisoned in the country.
Maduro and Flores were illegally arrested in Caracas by the American terrorist army on January 3rd (13 January 1404) and were taken to New York for trial on drug trafficking charges. They have denied the charges against them.
A spokesman for the US Attorney's office in Manhattan, which filed the charges, declined to comment on the new charges.
Maduro, who ruled Venezuela from 2013 until his abduction, arrest and transfer to the United States, and had strained relations with the United States, called himself a "prisoner of war" in the January 5 meeting (15 January 1404).
At his impeachment hearing in January, Maduro also told the court: "I am innocent." I am not guilty. I am an honorable man. I am still the president of my country.
